J. Michael Straczynski has written a masterful recreation of Asgard with Thor, Balder, Loki and all the wonderful characters from Marvel Norse Mythology. And Olivier Copiel, Mark Morales, Danny Miki have captured thr flavor and greatness of Asgard in their art. The Norse Gods should be bigger than life in story and visual art and I really enjoy the direction Straczynski is going with the surprises of a female Loki and the return of Doctor Blake. Plus he includes a story about the fate of his father Odin. A good read and the quallity I would like to see in the rest of Marvel's titles. I will be reading this because it is good and it defines these characters as they should be. A wonderful start for the Title Thor. Stay tuned comic faithful for MORE,

Blind Justice
This movie looks great and it's unfortunate that it won't get as much publicity as the new Batman flick. The creatures look incredible and if any of you haven't seen Pan's Labyrinth then you're missing out! Yes, it's in subtitles for those of you who don't speak Espanol, but it's an incredible movie. The creatures in it are certainly reflected here in the new Hellboy film.
I'm actually looking forward to seeing this one more than the new Batman movie. Ok, so I'm looking forward to both.

Ever since Hercules somehow ended up starring in the Hulk’s old title, fans have been waiting to see the two of them fight like only brainless powerhouses can. Unfortunately, the 64-page “Hulk Vs. Hercules: When Titans Collide” doesn’t really fit the advertised bill as neatly as you’d hope.
With the Hulk largely out of play following the events of "World War Hulk" -- he’s red, or locked up, or Doc Samson instead of Bruce Banner or something else I’d rather not think about -- Pak and Van Lente decide to give the fans the grudge match they were after through the liberal use of that most dubious of devices -- a flashback issue.
The framing sequence takes place pretty much “now” in the Hercules comic as Hercules and Cho are accompanied by Athena. In a diner, Athena explains to Cho a story from the past where the Hulk and Hercules fought, and gives a tidy little moral at the end about how the two characters connect. Not a bad story, really, but nothing that’ll set the world alight either. It’s the kind of character revelation that, experience tells me, probably won’t affect the main plot, even though it sounds like it might.
The main problem, as I see it, is that despite Van Lente’s best efforts, Hercules is still, in the eyes of many Hulk fans, something of a pretender to the throne. The audience wants to see those characters fight, that’s for certain, but they want to see them fight in a way that genuinely matters. By which I mean, in “the present” -- the thing about flashbacks is that, by their very nature, we know they’re not going to cause any big changes to happen. Hercules and Hulk have some nice parallels as the characters go, but that’s not what the fans wanted out of a Hulk/Hercules fight. I say this confidently because I’m one of them.
Not helping the situation is the art for the comic, which has been unexplainably farmed out to multiple teams, all drawing a few pages each. This format can work, but surely it needs the framing device to explain it? Here it’s just a mish-mash of styles. It just feels like the book’s been rushed out. A reprint of the Lee/Kirby/Everett story from “Tales to Astonish #79” is the real high point of the issue, simply by virtue of the talent involved.
Even fans of the "Incredible Hercules" title will find this one a little lacking. It’s strictly a book for those who think the idea of the Hulk fighting his way through Ancient Greek mythology might be a fun idea.

Joss Whedon returns to the world of his blockbuster film Serenity with the three-issue comics series Better Days.
Better Days revisits everyone's favorite space cowboys in this thrilling, action-packed adventure, with Mal and his crew on a heist that promises a big payoff--what's surprising is that this heist just might make good on that promise.
Whedon reunites with Brett Matthews and Will Conrad, his collaborators on the best-selling 2005 series Those Left Behind. Adam Hughes joins the team for covers.
This one is a keeper better than the Serenity: Those Left Behind which sold over 85, 000 copies. The pure fan of the TV series will love this. Has the feel of the early series. Stay tuned comic faithful for MORE,

| "Superpowers #0" |
The project, described by Dynamite Publisher Nick Barrucci as "being in development for the last three years," has now been released and marks the return of a host of classic Golden Age heroes and villains, all under the creative and artistic direction of Ross and writer Jim Krueger. Many of the featured characters have not been seen in many years, they have been brought back from obscurity. They have all have been drawn and designed by Alex Ross, including Fighting Yank, Green Lama, The Death Defying ‘Devil, the Black Terror, Masquerade, The Flame, Mister Face, Samson, The Scarab, The Owl, the Claw, Pyroman, the Arrow, the American Spirit, the Crusaders, the F-Troop and more.
Somehow in the comic world both DC and Marvel have left the creative world and keep doing the same thing over and over to their heroes. How many times can you kill and resurrect, have a universal crisis, a world war, the redefining of a character. Jim Krueger and Alex Ross have made "Project Superpowers" a new exciting look at some old classic heroes with a modern look at the heart of a hero and the depth of evil. A good read so far, art and story is outstanding and shows the proper respect for these super heroes. DC and Marvel should treat the heroes with the dignity that is shown by Ross and Krueger within these pages.
